char.gy sells the unit to the council and it will be installed on a residential street. Residents can then sign up to use the service, either a monthly subscription or payg. We think most will go for the subscription as they will use it regularly throughout the month,
We are intending to have 4-5 units per Controlled Parking Zone meaning a resident has more than one option of where to charge, and will be within a close distance to their house or flat.
If the lampposts are all on the same network, there will be a queueing system to prevent power surges when 4 or 5 EVs are plugged in at the same time.
The length of time to charge the car will depend on the power to the lamppost, type of car, how close to 0% it is.
